Nickel

Nickel Products: From Raw Materials to Refining Process ;The production of nickel typically involves the following steps:

1. Raw Material Mining
Nickel is mainly extracted from two types of ores: Sulfide Ores: Such as pentlandite (NiS) and nickel-copper ores (NiCu).
Oxide Ores: Such as limonite (NiO) and garnierite (NiAl2O4).
2. Ore Treatment
The mined ores are processed through:     Crushing and Grinding: To break down the ore into smaller particles.
Mineral Processing: Methods like flotation, gravity separation, or magnetic separation to concentrate nickel.
3. Refining
Nickel is refined using two methods: Pyrometallurgical Smelting: High-temperature smelting with a flux to produce nickel metal ingots.
Hydrometallurgical Refining: Chemical processes like acid leaching to extract pure nickel.
4. Nickel Products
Refined nickel is used to produce:  Stainless Steel: As a key alloying element.
Batteries: In nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) and lithium-ion batteries.
Alloys: For aerospace and high-tech industries.

Description

Nickel Products

Nickel targets are available in various forms, purities, sizes, and price ranges. Nickel sputtering targets are made from high-purity nickel metal. Nickel is a hard, shiny, silver-white metal with a density of 8.91 g/cc, a melting point of 1,453°C, and a vapor pressure of 237 Pa (1726K). Its main characteristics include ductility, malleability, and ferromagnetism, and its polished surface does not lose its luster when exposed to air.

Nickel Target Features
Nickel Target Shapes: Flat Target, Rotating Target, Custom Shapes
Nickel Target Purity: 99.9%, 99.99%, 99.95%
Nickel Target Sizes: Manufactured according to drawings or custom specifications
We also offer nickel granules, nickel wire, nickel rods, nickel plates, nickel sheets, and more.

The nickel plate is polished, and then undergoes centrifugal grinding to create the nickel target. Due to the excellent mechanical strength of nickel metal, it has a strong ability to resist deformation and fracture when subjected to external forces, making it suitable for processing methods such as polishing and grinding. Polishing effectively removes oxides and impurities from the surface of the nickel plate, and centrifugal grinding further eliminates surface impurities. The combination of polishing and centrifugal grinding significantly improves the cleanliness of the nickel target.

Nickel sputtering targets are used for thin film deposition, decoration, semiconductors, displays, LED and photovoltaic devices, and functional coatings. They also have promising applications in industries such as optical information storage, automotive glass, architectural glass, and optical communication, similar to other glass coating industries.

Other applications of nickel include its use in the manufacture of stainless steel, coins, and batteries. When evaporated in a vacuum, nickel can form decorative coatings on ceramic surfaces or create solder layers in circuit device manufacturing. It is also frequently sputtered to form layers in the production of magnetic storage media, fuel cells, and sensors.

Nickel Target Alloy Types
Aluminum-Nickel Alloy, Copper-Nickel Alloy, Nickel-Chromium Alloy, Nickel-Iron Alloy, Nickel-Magnesium Alloy, Nickel-Manganese Alloy, Nickel-Titanium Alloy, Nickel-Vanadium Alloy, Nickel-Zirconium Alloy, etc.
